Sarah Palin and rubber chicken for $349.

January 25, 2010

Wanna go hear Sarah Palin speak next week?

It’ll only cost you $349.

That’s the cost of the Tea Party Nation banquet that’s going to be held during the Tea Party Nation convention from Feb. 4 to 6 in Nashville. The $349 tickets to the convention alone have been sold out, which means more people want to go to the convention than hear Palin yap.

But $349 for a banquet?? What the hell are they serving? And I thought this was supposed to be the “people’s party.” Who can afford $349 for greasy chicken and cold asparagus? And then have to digest all that listening to Palin yammer about how wonderful she is, and how the world is against her.

Talk about reflux.

And I thought this was especially interesting; it’s a note at the bottom of the purchase page for TPN tickets:

Please be aware that any disruptive behavior will result in the immediate removal from the convention site and all ticket purchases will be forfeited.  There will be no exceptions!

How’s that for a freedom-loving group? Dissenters will be removed. Hell, they paid $349 for a rubber chicken dinner and a speech by an intellectual lightweight who is accidentally famous. Seems to me they should be able to say whatever they want.

Keep the faith.
